41 Cheyney Students named PSAC Scholar Athletes
June 27, 2017
LOCK HAVEN, PA - Forty-one Cheyney University student-athletes earned Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Scholar Athlete honors for carrying a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher through the 2016-2017 season. Twenty-six percent of Cheyney Wolves earned the right to be called PSAC scholar-athletes. This represents Cheyney's highest percentage of PSAC scholar-athletes since the PSAC started charting academic progress in 1995.
"We're extremely proud of the academic growth of our student athletes. We hope that this continues throughout the upcoming year. Our student athletes have been supported by their courses through study hall and monitoring and we feel that that has assisted us in growing the number of athletes on the PSAC scholar athlete list," said Suzanne Kilian, Cheyney's Interim Athletic Director/Compliance Director.
The league set a new mark with 2,903 student-athletes earning PSAC Scholar-Athlete accolades.
