TRUSTEE LARRY SKINNER

Larry Skinner is a Senior Sales Executive at Conversion Technologies International, Inc. with more than 28 years experience in delivering sustained revenue and profit in the field of Document Management. Larry progressed from Director of Business Development to VP, Sales and Marketing after 6 straight years of Channel development and sales growth. He supervised Channel partners and a direct sales force located throughout the U.S. and Canada. Mr. Skinner managed a $ 1-6 M+ portfolio of National accounts and led all forecasting, market analytics and sales team training/development programs. He is responsible for closing some of the largest contracts in company history with several generating over 1million dollars in revenue.
Larry Skinner is a visionary and a leader in both his personal and professional lives. Professionally, he oversees and mentors a growing Sales and Marketing Department, guiding the staff with wisdom attained from his years of experience. He is an active member of the Association of Records Managers and Administrators and The Association of Information and Image Management. Larry was recently elected to the Board of Directors of the Liberty Bell Chapter of ARMA as a Director.
Larry is a member of The Forum For A Better PA, an affiliation of politically engaged business, civic, professional and religious leaders in Pennsylvania who are committed to increasing the quality of social, civic, and economic participation by African Americans across the Commonwealth. The ultimate mission of the group is to improve key economic, educational and social indicators for Pennsylvania as a whole.

A graduate of Cheyney University (1976), Larry spent six years working as a teacher in the Philadelphia School System and was a Recreation Leader for the City of Philadelphia Youth Study Center. He has always had a positive impact on children and young adults. He continues his commitment to being a youth mentor in his position as VP of the Cheyney C Club (a certified 501c3 fundraising organization). The C Club raises scholarship money for the Athletic Department, School Band and Cheerleaders. The C Club goals remain consistent with the core mission of the University, which is to provide excellent educational opportunities for a diverse student population. Larry is also the Tournament Chairperson for the C Club’s annual Wade Wilson Golf Tournament. In three years, The C Club has raised close to $ 100,000 in scholarships and financial support for the above mentioned groups.

Larry is most proud of his loving and supportive family. He states, “Without their love and support, I would not be who I am today.” He is blessed with his beautiful wife Carmen of 30 years (Cheyney 1976), his oldest child Lacey (Delaware County CC) and her daughter Aurora, and Laiya, his youngest daughter (Cheyney 2010). For the past 25 years, the Skinners have happily resided in the Wynnefield area of Philadelphia. Larry and Carmen are also devoted members of Bright Hope Baptist Church.
