TRUSTEE vincent gordon
Appointed in 2011, Vince Gordon is the Deputy Secretary of the Office of Medical Assistance Programs in the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare. The Office of Medical Assistance Programs administers the joint state/federal Medicaid program that purchases health care for close to 2 million Pennsylvania residents and manages a budget of $19 billion. During Vince’s tenure, the Commonwealth’s mandatory managed program for Medical Assistance beneficiaries, known as HealthChoices, expanded statewide.
Prior to being appointed Deputy Secretary, Vince worked for Keystone Mercy Health Plan, where he specialized in provider network development. During his 20 year tenure with the health plan, Vince rose to the position of Associate Vice President of Provider Network Management, where he was responsible for managing business relationships with several hospital and health systems in Southeast Pennsylvania. He was also responsible for management of Keystone Mercy’s dental, vision, home care, and skilled nursing home providers.
Vince is past President of the Board of School Directors for the Upper Darby School District in Delaware County and is a past president and member of the Board of Directors for Kids Smiles, a non-profit pediatric dental provider. Vince is also a past executive board member of the YMCA of Eastern Delaware County and currently serves on the Y’s foundation board.
Vince served six years in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve as a Corporal (E-4) Non Commissioned Officer.
Vince earned his MBA from Widener University and his Bachelor of Science degree from Hahnemann University.
