Take an Aquaculture Tour, See a Planetarium Show and Take Part in Inquiry Learning all in One Day!

We invite you to come and explore our Aquaculture Research and Education Center (AREL) here at Cheyney University. A FREE field trip for the day will give your students a chance to see science in action. Students will encounter various species of fish and aquatic invertebrates. Research scientist will be available to speak with students and answer questions. All visits can be tailored to meet specific state standards.

Cheyney University HRTM Program Listed as Top 20 Degree Producer

A special report in a recent issue of Diverse Issues in Higher Education has named Cheyney University’s Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Management (HRTM) Program as a top 20 degree producer. “The three-part Top 100 Special Report provides the only national analysis of U. S. college’s and university’s success in awarding degrees to Black, Hispanic, Asian American and American Indian students,” the journal noted in an article announcing the top 100 degree producers.

Cheyney University grieves at the loss of the talented professor and mentor, Edythe Scott Bagley. Professor Bagley was a member of the Cheyney University faculty for 25 years, retiring in 1996. Her title was Associate Professor of Fine Arts in the department of English.

Starting this month, all Cheyney University faculty, staff, and students can take online Microsoft Digital Literacy Courses twenty-four hours per day and seven day per week for FREE. The online courses are available on the MyCU (Intranet) portal located on the cheyney.edu homepage.

Forty-six Cheyney University student-athletes have been named to the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll for the 2011 Spring semester. To qualify, a student athlete must achieve a 3.0 grade point average for the semester.

The Department of Professional Studies will now only include programs in Business and current areas of concentration; and, the program in Fashion Merchandising and Management. Programs in Recreation/Leisure Studies and Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Management will form the new Department of Recreation and Hospitality Studies.

The best and the brightest shine playing Honda Campus All-Star Challenge, the long-running Q & A competition between students at America's Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). 50,000+ students have used their brainpower and buzzer-skills to earn their schools over $6 million in grants from Honda. Now that the "Great 48" have been announced, teams will kick into overdrive in practices and at the Pre-NCTs
