Cheyney University is hosting a Youth Day on Friday, January 11 as part of the annual PSAC “Take a Kid to a Game Day” from 10 am to 4 pm on the historic campus.
The program is free for children in elementary and middle school and their families. The purpose is to involve the community in campus events.

Institute for Academic Enrichment (IAE)---Summer 2012 Schedule
• Our IAE program will be held at our Center City Campus in Philadelphia and will run from June 26-August 16, 2012.
• Classes will be held from 10:45 to 4pm Monday-Thursday.
• Students will be taking a full semester (12 credits) of college-level courses*

The 2012 Commencement Convocation will be held on the Cheyney University Quadrangle at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 12, 2012. All graduates are expected to participate in Commencement and must be in proper academic attire.
Please arrive by 9:30 a.m. and report directly to Dudley Hall on the Quadrangle. A special events tent will be set up on the quadrangle to accommodate all of the commencement participants and guests; there will be no need to relocate activities due to inclement weather.
Rehearsal for Commencement will be held in Dudley Hall at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 10, 2012

The third annual African American Marching Band Event will be held at the John Harris Football Field at Harrisburg High School on August 27 from 1-4 pm. Cheyney University’s Marching Band will perform as well as marching bands from Howard University, Morgan State, Lincoln University and local high schools.

Cheyney University will host a Summer Transportation Institute (STI) for high school students in support of the Federal Highway Administration’s vision to develop a diverse, well-qualified workforce for the transportation industry in the 21st century.The STI program will run Monday thru Friday from 9am-4:00pm from July 25th thru August 19th. Community Day at Cheyney University is planned for Saturday April 2 from 9 am to 2 pm. Activities are scheduled in the Cope Hall Gymnasium and O’Shields-Stevenson Stadium. All events will be held rain or shine, with cancellation planned for only severe weather. Activities are free and open to the public. Cheyney’s Athletic programs will be showcased, including a Throw Back sale of Cheyney athletic equipment and attire.

Quincy C. Hilliard’s compositions for wind band are published by a variety of well known publishers. He is frequently commissioned to compose works, including one for the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta and a score for a documentary film, The Texas Rangers. For many years, the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP) has recognized him with annual awards for the unusually frequent performance of his compositions.All High School bands are invited to attend this free workshop.
