About 250 students and family members visited campus on Friday, November 9, for Destination Cheyney. The college visitation was organized by the new Executive Director of Enrollment Management, Eric Hilton, Ph.D. and his staff.

July 10, 2012-- Cheyney University received word late Monday that The Board of Governors of the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PASSHE) has approved a 3 percent tuition increase for the 2012-13 academic year. The decision also reflects its commitment to the Legislature and the governor, and marks the fifth time in eight years the increase has been either at or below the rate of inflation.

On the eve of it's 175th anniversary, Cheyney University of Pennsylvania is serving as the backdrop and featured subject of "Visions of Black History Month," to be aired on Saturday February 18 at 7:30 pm on 6abc.

We invite you to come and explore our Aquaculture Research and Education Center (AREL) here at Cheyney University. A FREE field trip for the day will give your students a chance to see science in action. Students will encounter various species of fish and aquatic invertebrates. Research scientist will be available to speak with students and answer questions. All visits can be tailored to meet specific state standards.

25 year-old author and Cheyney University alum, Cedric Perry, steps into a new arena with his new web sitcom, “We’re Just Talking". The show features Cheyney University students and gives an entertaining yet insightful look at modern day black culture, shown through the eyes of two college roommates from separate walks of life.

D.I.V.A. "Distinction Is Very Appealing" Program is a comprehensive and interactive four-part program series for women students. Each session, which lasts 90 minutes, provides a foundation for the session that follows. Participants are strongly encouraged to attend every session.

For the third straight season Cheyney and Lincoln Universities will kick-off the football season against each other. This year the Battle of the Firsts – Wade Wilson Classic will be played in O’Shields-Stevenson Stadium on the campus of Cheyney University.

High School Males will participate in a week long residential life experience (August 7th-13th) at Cheyney University that exposes them to; goal setting, mentor leadership development, college preparedness, SAT preparation and pre-professional skills. Participants will have the opportunity to participate in recreational activities as follows; swimming, tennis, golf, basketball, football and other activities. Students should apply immediately as space is limited!

President Michelle Howard-Vital announced recently that Interim Executive Director of Enrollment Management Michael Taylor has been appointed to the Government Relations Committee of the Pennsylvania Association for College Admission Counseling.

Michael Taylor engaged with State Representative Tony Payton at the recent PACAC College Access Forum. Taylor stated, "I will volunteer to assist Representative Payton with Pennsylvania House bills that focus on merit scholarships for Pennsylvania students."

Officials at Cheyney University of Pennsylvania have announced that the University experienced a large percent enrollment increase in first-year students over last year (2009) bringing the headcount to approximately 1,586 students for the Fall 2010 Semester.
