Barnabus Perry was selected to represent Cheyney University for the 105 Voices of History, National HBCU Concert Choir. The event is going to be showcased at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC on September 19th with musical performances by Dr. Shirley Caesar and Kim Burrell.

According to the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE), nineteen Cheyney University students will receive the Bond-Hill Scholarship for the 2010-2011 academic year. A total of twenty-eight scholarships were awarded this year.

Stephanie Orji is one of five winners of the 11th annual John McLendon Memorial Minority Postgraduate Scholarship Awards. Ms. Orji will receive a $10,000 grant to be used towards postgraduate studies in athletics administration.

This Schedule of Activities is for all new first year freshmen and transfer students that have been accepted to Cheyney University for the Fall 2010-2011 semester. Discovery Week 2010 is held from August 23-29th with orientation sessions scheduled each day to prepare new students with the transition to campus life.

This year Homecoming (Oct. 7-10) will commence with a Fundraising Gala to honor alumnus Ed Bradley. This Gala will also showcase the renovated Marian Anderson Music Center and provide an opportunity for attendees to spend an evening with famous guests. All funds raised (except for the cost of food) will be employed to support the Call Me MISTER program—a signature teacher education program at Cheyney University.
