Collegiate 100 Chapter Offers Many Opportunities for Cheyney Students

Cheyney University’s Collegiate 100 Chapter, an auxiliary of the Philadelphia Chapter of 100 Black Men, has been active on and off campus this semester. The Collegiate students, both male and female, were selected on the basis of their prior community service, engagement in positive extracurricular activities, and academic accomplishments.

Cheyney University Hosts Youth Day January 11th

Cheyney University is hosting a Youth Day on Friday, January 11 as part of the annual PSAC “Take a Kid to a Game Day” from 10 am to 4 pm on the historic campus. The program is free for children in elementary and middle school and their families. The purpose is to involve the community in campus events.

The Bloomberg Institute Will Offer The Bloomberg Assessment Test at Cheyney University on September 21

The Bloomberg Institute is coming to Cheyney University on September 21st to give the Bloomberg Assessment Test (BAT) to students and recently graduated alumni who are interested in pursuing careers in Finance, Economics and Business. There is no charge to take the 3-hour computer-based test on campus, but preregistration is necessary.

Congratulations, Prospective Graduate, family members and guests; and welcome to Cheyney University's Commencement Website! The 2012 Commencement Convocation will be held on the Cheyney University Quadrangle at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 12, 2012. All graduates are expected to participate in Commencement and must be in proper academic attire. Please arrive by 9:30 a.m. and report directly to Dudley Hall on the Quadrangle. A special events tent will be set up on the quadrangle to accommodate all of the commencement participants and guests; there will be no need to relocate activities due to inclement weather. Rehearsal for Commencement will be held in Dudley Hall at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 10, 2012

Weather Changes Community Day Plans

In anticipation of inclement weather on April 21, some of the Community Day at Cheyney University activities have been changed. As planned, the 4th annual Thornbury 5K/10K race organized by the Delaware Valley Lions Club will begin at 8 am this Saturday. Registration opens at 7:00 am in Cope Hall gymnasium. Parking is available in the Marcus Foster parking lot. This is an out and back race starting and ending at Cheyney University.

Dr. Pamela Hadley, a Cheyney University of Pennsylvania graduate, has just joined the Cheyney University staff as campus physician. Dr. Hadley earned her medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her training at Cleveland Metropolitan General Hospital, Case Western Reserve.

Campus Construction Projects to Alter Homecoming Parking and Tailgating

President Michelle Howard-Vital has alerted Cheyney University alumni, faculty, staff and students that due to campus construction projects, there will be a few inconveniences during Homecoming Week (October 10 - 16). A slightly altered parking and tailgating arrangement has been planned to maximize the safety of the alumni, to work within the Townships rules, and to accommodate as many alumni on campus as possible.
