Ruffin Bell

Biography:

Ruffin is the newest member of the Cheyney athletic staff.  He joined the Wolves in December 2010 as the Interim Equipment Manager. 

Ruffin started the Black Collge Baseball website as a hobby in November 2002. As a graduate of Coppin State and Grambling State, he wanted to simply keep up with with the MEAC and SWAC conferences.

Most recently, Bell was the athletic director/ head baseball coach at Baltimore City Community College. Prior to that appointment (2005-2007), he worked for the Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation as the National Admnistrator for the Badges for Baseball program.

Ruffin received a B.S. in English Media Management from Coppin State in 1999 and his Master's in Sports Administration from Grambling State in 2001. In the fall of 2003, Ruffin was presented by Dr. Cornell West, the Jeanette W. Shamwell Distinguished Service Award for exceptional contributions to the field of education. He was also featured in the February 2004 Coaching Management Magazine, for starting BlackCollegeBaseball.com.

A native of Baltimore, MD, Ruffin played baseball at Coppin from 1994-97 and was on the team's 1995 MEAC Championship team. He was also the assistant coach at Coppin State from 2002-2006. Bell also coached at Grambling State University and helped Coppin State start its Sports Management Program.
