Biography:

Michael Blakeney was appointed head bowling coach at Cheyney University in October 2008. Blakeney has served as the head coach for the Temple University Club team (player-coach) as well as Cardinal O’Hara High School Boys and Girls Bowling Teams. Blakeney is also a United States Bowling Congress Silver Level Coach.


Blakeney went onto to earn an Associates Degree from Vincennes University Bowling Center Management in 2000 and then went onto to earn his Bachelors Degree from Temple University in Sports and Recreation Management from the School of Tourism and Hospitality in 2006. The following year he completed his Masters of Education from Temple in Sport and Recreation Administration with the School of Tourism and Hospitality. Blakeney is also the Entrepreneur of Bowlers United. A business dedicated to promoting the sport of bowling by creating and marketing bowling tournaments, clinics, camps, fundraisers and lessons.


Still an avid bowler, Blakeney is a member of the Professional Bowlers Association. He has rolled six 300 games and a high series of 796.
