Biography:

Head Track Coach James Williams has tagged Brianna Liebold to be the newest addition to the Wolves coaching staff. Liebold comes to Cheyney with an outstanding resume as a former student athlete at Indiana (PA). “I am very excited and honored to have the opportunity to join the men's and women's Track & Field family here at Cheyney University,” commented Liebold. “This team is comprised of talented individuals. I am looking forward to being a part of a new and upcoming elite program and helping the athletes develop a winning mentality to use towards not only athletics but throughout their life experiences!”

“I’m very excited about Brianna joining our staff. She comes from similar type of program where she was a multiple time All American & Regional Athlete of the Year, under one of my mentors, Ralph White. So therefore, I knew she would have some knowledge of our system and blend well with our core staff here that has been together for close to a decade,” commented Williams.

A Dean’s List honoree all four years at IUP, Liebold excelled in the classroom as well as in the triple and long jump pit. She holds the IUP indoor triple jump record as well as the PSAC record. She earned All-American Indoor status with a third and sixth place finish in the long jump in 2010 & 2011. As well as an Outdoor All-American with an eighth place finish in 2011. In 2011 she was a three time PSAC Champion (Outdoor long jump and triple jump and Indoor long jump). In 2010 & 2011 she was also the PSAC Indoor Triple Jump Champion. In those years she was also named PSAC Indoor Field Athlete of the Year and Indoor Field MVP. In 2010 she was named Overall Indoor MVP.

“I was really impressed considering that she just graduated in May and already passed her USATF Level 1 and USATF official certification. On top of an extensive background in community service and coaching developmental grassroots track & field, she has proven that she has the skill set and the mind set to be successful. All that was missing from her resume was the opportunity, which Cheyney has now given her,” stated Williams.
