Congratulations, Prospective Graduate, family members and guests; and welcome to Cheyney University's Commencement Website!
The 2012 Commencement Convocation will be held on the Cheyney University Quadrangle at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 12, 2012. All graduates are expected to participate in Commencement and must be in proper academic attire.
Please arrive by 9:30 a.m. and report directly to Dudley Hall on the Quadrangle. A special events tent will be set up on the quadrangle to accommodate all of the commencement participants and guests; there will be no need to relocate activities due to inclement weather.
Rehearsal for Commencement will be held in Dudley Hall at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 10, 2012

The third annual African American Marching Band Event will be held at the John Harris Football Field at Harrisburg High School on August 27 from 1-4 pm. Cheyney University’s Marching Band will perform as well as marching bands from Howard University, Morgan State, Lincoln University and local high schools.

The Cheyney University Honors and Awards Convocation is an annual event designated to celebrate the accomplishments and ongoing academic excellence of Cheyney University students and faculty. This workshop was created to answer any questions students may have about safe sex and inform them of protective options at their disposal. In addition the organization BEBASHI will speak to the students about AIDS and HIV Prevention.

Community Day at Cheyney University is planned for Saturday April 2 from 9 am to 2 pm. Activities are scheduled in the Cope Hall Gymnasium and O’Shields-Stevenson Stadium. All events will be held rain or shine, with cancellation planned for only severe weather. Activities are free and open to the public. Cheyney’s Athletic programs will be showcased, including a Throw Back sale of Cheyney athletic equipment and attire.

Guidance and Counseling, Fall 2010 Freshman Seminar I and II (GAC101 and GAC102) - Wednesdays Workshop Series - All first-year students must attend at least 7 workshops during the course of the semester. This will count as 15% of their GAC 101 or GAC 102 course grade. In addition an alternative assignment will be listed on D2L (that can be completed in order to receive credit) for those that have documented that they have a class at this time.
