Internships are an important part of your future. They provide a way for you to take what you learn in the classroom and apply it to real world situations. Internships help you see what you are studying and relate it directly to future career pursuits.

At Cheyney University we strive to make students more competitive in today's global market. The Internship Institute is designed to bridge the gap between the world of academics and the world of work.

The Internship Institute will help you:

  • Answer common interview questions
  • Teach proper business etiquette
  • Transition from college to work
  • Gain valuable work/career experience

Internship Institute Workshop Series for the Fall and Spring Semesters

The Internship Institute at Cheyney University of Pennsylvania is designed to assist students in developing the skills necessary to prepare themselves for pre-professional and professional experiences. The Institute focuses on interviewing, resume building, professional development, appropriate dress, and communication skills, as well as other topics that relate to conducting an effective job search. As a free service to Cheyney students, it is highly recommended that all students participate in the Institute.

Workshop Series:

The Institute runs both in the fall and spring semesters, with students completing the required workshops over the course of the semester. The workshops are scheduled during the campus free period on Wednesday from 12:45-2:15pm (to be held in Burleigh Hall on the 1st floor).  Students are required to attend a minimum number of workshops to successfully complete the Institute and earn their Certificate of Completion.
