Main Line Chamber of Commerce's Gold Leaf Scholarship Application

 
Scholarship Background
 
The Main Line Chamber’s Annual Helena Devereux Women in Leadership Award is given out at the Gold Leaf Celebration to a Main Line female business leader in either a for-profit or non-profit organization operating in the Greater Main Line Region. Nominees have direct responsibility for the overall strength and viability of their business, proven accomplishments impacting the financial stability of her business, demonstrate exceptional leadership capabilities, have made significant contributions to the community and exhibit a strong commitment to improving the quality of the personal and professional lives of others.
 
This scholarship is intended for women who desire to become strong, community leaders and achieve many of the things aforementioned.
 
 
Eligibility Requirements
A student is eligible to be considered for Gold Leaf Scholarship if she:
·         Is a current Cheyney student who has overcome challenges while working towards her educational goals
·         Is a resident of Pennsylvania’s Chester, Delaware or Montgomery County and a U.S. Citizen
·         Has earned a cumulative GPA of 3.00 in her undergraduate work
·         Has demonstrated leadership qualities through participation in community service, extra curricular activities and work experience
·         Meets financial needs requirements, as established by the College’s Financial Aid Office
·         Has completed and submitted all the required documents (including application, resume, essay and  three (3) references)
·         Is not receiving tuition reimbursement by her employer (including school districts). Please submit proof of lack of reimbursements from HR department
 
 
Deadline
Students must submit a completed application to Cheyney University, Office of Institutional Advancment, Biddle Hall, Room 130 by Tuesday, October 3rd, 2011 before 4:30 p.m. EST.

Information you have provided above in accordance with your initial Cheyney application will be utilized during the selection process.  A Main Line Chamber Board member may contact you for an interview to further evaluate your application. An award decision will be made in early October and the monies will be deposited into the recipient’s account to be applied to the Spring 2012 Semester.
