• The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) should be completed each year. You may complete the form using estimated tax information, however this information should be updated once you have completed the tax filing process for the base year (2011).
• Starting February 1, 2012, the online FAFSA will provide a feature offering completed tax data to be transferred directly to the application from the IRS using the data retrieval process. Note: This option can be used during the initial application process, or it may be accessed during the online correction process.
• For the 2012-2013 year, if an applicant is selected for verification, he/she may correct their FAFSA using the data retrieval process from the IRS, or submit a Tax Transcript to the financial aid office from the IRS. Individual copies of federal tax return forms will not be accepted for the 2012-2013 award year.
• You may contact the IRS directly for a copy of your Tax Transcript at the following number: 1-800-908-9946
