Founder's Day - 175th Anniversary of Cheyney University
Founders Day Convocation is planned for February 24th, 2012. The distinguished event will begin with the Founder's Day Processional of Administration, Faculty and Staff, music by the Cheyney University Choir and Band, and welcome remarks and presentations by Cheyney University President Dr. Michelle Howard-Vital.The 2012 Humphreys Scholars will be recognized by a member of the Richard Humphreys Distribution Committee.
Cheyney University alumnus and Trustee, Mr. Robert L. Traynham, II will give the Keynote Speech. He is the engaging host of the National edition of Comcast Newsmakers. In addition, Traynham is the host and moderator of Roll Call with Robert Traynham, a dynamic Sunday political talk show that airs on The Comcast Network, the Mid-Atlantic region’s premier source for locally-focused television programming. February marks Black History Month, and it is also the month that Cheyney University - America’s oldest Historically Black College and University - plans to recognize its past and look forward to a bright future with a series of events. The events are open to students, alumni, faculty, staff and the general public.
