coordinator of instructional design and digital innovation

Reporting to the Vice President of Academic Affairs, the Coordinator of Instructional Design and Digital Innovation is a full-time position. The incumbent is an expert in instructional and media design with knowledge of adult learning theory. He or she works with faculty to coordinate innovation in online learning and effectively oversees the instructional design and quality assurance required to enhance the quality of higher education delivery and reach. The coordinator will have experience designing for multiple-perspectives with an emphasis in adult learning. The employee will help develop and document a strategic plan for the instructional design and course creation process that promotes innovation, integrates quality, is media rich, and accommodates large scale development. This position is wholly funded by Title III grants. Position is classified as a Manager 190 with salary range of $56K-$66K.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Identify programs ready for development with on-line modules and train faculty in the use of new instructional technologies. This will include training on hardware and software or any Learning Management System.
-Effectively communicate and collaborate with academic leadership, faculty and staff to develop and document the academic standards, policies and processes for online and distance instruction.
-Oversee the quality review of all online courses to ensure that academic standards, policies, and processes are met. Participate in any campus program review or curriculum design.
-Work directly with interdepartmental and management teams, SMEs, for development of fully online and/or hybrid courses,
-Participate in research and development of instructional technologies that support the distance education goals of the university. Apply industry benchmarks to ensure university remains current.
-Develop and maintain active course content and related files or multimedia, contributing to campus webinar events and strengthening online education as a strategic imperative for the university.
-Liaise with IT Services and Media Services to ensure systems are functional and operational to ensure service delivery at the highest level.
-Develop presentations and reports to show how programs are being incorporated into program delivery and ensure university sets and meets milestones.
-Provide training to Faculty and staff on the use of software for instructional and student support purposes.
-Completes other duties as assigned.

Education, Training, and/or Experience:

A master's degree in instructional design, information technology, distance education or other closely related field. A minimum of two years of experience in higher education and three years of work experience in instructional design, curriculum development , (including HMTL coding, JAVA scripting, forms development and multimedia production). Post- secondary teaching experience is preferred. Ability to design, develop, troubleshoot, and support technology issues related to Learning Management Systems (LMS) and web technologies that support online courses
