The African American Museum in Philadelphia (AAMP) is offering a year-long fellowship for current students or recent graduates of graduate programs in African American Studies, History or Humanities. The Graduate Fellowship in Museum Practice program is geared to provide students with a comprehensive practicum in professional museum work with exposure to Collections Management, Museum Education, Exhibitions, Development, and Visitor Services.

Cheyney University Concert Choir with Marques L. A. Garrett as conductor, Cheyney University Concert Band director, Allen Gardner, in concert with special guests Dr. George E. Allen, guest conductor, Abena Milette (Financial Aid) , mezzo soprano, performed on Dec. 8th at 1:30 pm in the Marian Anderson Music Center. Attendees commented on the quality of the Holiday Concert.

Additionally, the African collection of Mr. Phelps was displayed and the reception for the collection was attended by Mrs. Phelps. Profits for the Annual Student Art Exhibition will go to the Cheyney Fine Art Honor Society.

Cheyney University’s new Graphic Design program features its Internet Literacy course in Spring 2011. This course is an introduction to the key components, definitions, common applications, and information resources of the Internet. The course will be taught in a state-of-the-art graphic design lab with industry-standard technology intended to prepare students to be competitive professionals in an ever-expanding, global economy.
