All residence halls will close promptly at 6:00 pm, Saturday May 10, 2014 and all residents must vacate the residence halls by 6:00 pm, Saturday, May 10, 2014. Once you check-out of the room, you will not be allowed back into the residence halls.

W.W. Smith Charitable Trust Staff Visits Cheyney Campus

Several Cheyney University W.W. Smith tuition-assistance scholarship recipients welcomed Michelle Montgomery, Grant Administrator, and Paralee Knight, Sr. Client Associate for Philanthropic Services of the W. W. Smith Charitable Trust on April 9. Cheyney University has received $1.6 million in scholarships from the Trust over the past 36 years. “This scholarship means so much to me,” said sophomore Anwar-Nasser Mathis, who recently lost both of his parents to cancer.

The day-long event gave students the opportunity to interact with other scholars from across the 14-state school system.

Free Mobile Crisis Team Available For Student Assistance

Cheyney University partners with the Delaware County Crisis Connection to provide services to students, faculty and staff all-year-round. A free mobile crisis team is available to come to campus to help with assessment, intervention, and referral. Services include assistance with mental health issues, suicide intervention, and educational prevention workshops for students.

Black Angels Over Tuskegee Pack The House

The November 18 production of Layon Gray's Black Angels Over Tuskegee drew an almost-full house for this brilliant production which chronicled the history of the Tuskegee Airmen. The narrated production was presented through the eyes of six Tuskegee Airmen who battled racism and segregation during the 1940’s to beat the odds and earn their wings. The audience response ranged from laughter to tears.

First Female Ambassador from Rwanda to the US Visits Cheyney University

Professor Mathilde Mukantabana, the first female ambassador from Rwanda to the United States, learned a great deal about Cheyney University when she visited the institution's suburban campus on Friday, November 15. "We are very excited to build a stronger basis of collaboration," Ambassador Mukantabana told an assembly of Cheyney dignitaries.

Twenty-four year old senior Julianne Lewis chose Cheyney University of Pennsylvania because of its small size, family atmosphere and Keystone Honors Academy (KHA). The KHA scholar, who grew up in Massachusetts but moved to Philadelphia five years ago, initially went to Community College of Philadelphia before transferring to Cheyney in 2012. She considered West Chester University but decided that it was too big.

Free Bloomberg Aptitude Test Scheduled for November 6

Cheyney University students - especially business administration majors - are encouraged to take the Bloomberg Aptitude Test (BAT) on November 6 in 216 Logan Hall. Doors open at 9 am and the test runs from 9:30 to 11:30 am. Preregistration is required and can be done online.
