AP Bio and Environmental Science Students Learn About Hydroponics at Cheyney University

Dr. Wendy Roberts' AP Biology students along with Jeff Holton's Environmental Science students, all from Church Farm School, a boys school in Exton, PA, visited Cheyney University's Aquaculture Research and Education Center on September 29 to gain insight into how an aquaponics system works.

The festivities kick off with a longtime tradition on Wednesday, October 7 with the Mister and Miss Cheyney Coronation Ceremony at 7:30 pm in Marian Anderson Music Center. A host of Alumni and Student Government-sponsored activities are planned.

On October 8, 2015, The Cheyney Foundation is hosting an “All That Jazz” Paint Night Fundraiser at Pinot’s Palette in Chadds Ford, PA to raise money for Cheyney University's Fine Arts Program and its students. The Paint Night Fundraiser is open to the public. Tickets cost $45.00 which includes paint supplies and light refreshments. A portion of each ticket is tax deductible.

Cheyney University Receives TRIO Student Support Services Grant

Cheyney University of Pennsylvania has received a five-year TRIO Student Support Services grant totaling $1.1 million from the U.S. Department of Education. The grant will be used to provide programs and services that address retention, GPA and graduation rates among 140 low income first-generation students.

The Cheyney University C Club hosted its annual golf tournament and silent auction on August 17 at Penn Oaks Country Club in West Chester, PA. As in past years, there were also events for non-golfers including a pinochle tournament and a tour of nearby Penn Woods Winery. A majority of the money raised goes toward athletic scholarships for Cheyney students.

She was honored at the end of a recent President's Executive Council meeting in Biddle Hall. The 27-year employee was completely taken off guard.
