This website provides the information you need to get support for your new laptop. Please note the Cheyney IT team is here to support your educational experience. However, all support for your computer comes directly from Dell. You must contact Dell (linked below) for issues with the screen, keyboard, battery, and other physical problems with the laptop. See the HELPFUL LINKS section below for more detailed instructions.

  1. Choose your model of laptop (Computers > Laptops > Latitude > 5000 Series > Latitude 5430 > Select this Product)
  2. Provide the service tag number from the underside of your laptop (pictured below). All laptops have warranty information that is necessary for service.
  3. Select the issue you are experiencing.
  4. Select the option for service.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?

Currently, Cheyney University will distribute laptops to all current CU students.

  • You must be a CU Student.
  • You must have completed registration.
  • You must have your CU-issued identification card.
  • You must be enrolled in classes.

HOW DO I GET MY DEVICE?

Laptop distribution dates will vary from semester to semester although all requirements below must be met:

  • The distribution of devices schedule begins on the 1st day of classes; please adhere to your scheduled time.
  • Visit the IT Office on the third floor of Marcus Foster during your scheduled time.
  • You must be enrolled in courses with no holds on your account.
  • You must present your CU ID.
  • You must read and sign the Student Laptop Agreement.
