4 X 200 Sets New School Mark

Cheyney University sent all of their field events to Widener along with some runners while other runners headed to Manhattan for the New Balance Invitational.
At Widener, Jon Soussa ran the 1000 meters in 3:11.52.
Jewel Jones was Cheyney’s top finisher in the long jump registering a 6.15 to finish seventh and just missing qualifying for the PSAC Championship. Jones also posted a third place finish in the triple jump with a mark of 12.79 m.
Javier Garcia finished second in the shot put with a PSAC qualifying mark of 14.58 meters.
Meanwhile in Manhattan, Kemuel Wright posted a 6.99 in the 60 m just missing the finals to finish 10th out of 74 competitors. Wright along with Lonnell Wilson improved their season best in the 200 by .10. The 4 X 200 relay team of Wright (22.01), Wilson (21.80), Kahlik Mitchell (22.20)and Justin Watkins (24.50) set a new school record in 1:30.51.
