ALERT - HURRICANE IRENE

Important Safety Information for Students, Staff and Faculty

August 26, 2011

 Hurricane Irene is heading northward and will be here by 8 PM Saturday night thru Sunday.  Governor Tom Corbett has issued a State of Emergency for Pennsylvania.  We are strongly urging you to return home and leave campus by 3:00 PM Friday, 8-26-11 - Please make sure all doors and windows are closed and secured. We advise all persons to travel with caution and to stay tuned to the local weather reports.

 

 

 

Cheyney University will be closed for business on Saturday and Sunday 8-27-11 and 8-28-11.

 Registration for class will resume on Monday depending on the weather.

Please note, moreover, that depending on the trajectory of Hurricane Irene, creeks and roads could experience flooding.    Students are encouraged to inform their residence assistant, if they must remain on campus over the weekend.    
 
Important messages will be sent to students through e-2 Campus.  This system sends messages to students’ cell phones.  All students are strongly encouraged to sign up for e-2 Campus immediately.
