Alumni To Reunite at 2013 Homecoming Events

The Homecoming Parade begins at 10:45 on October 19
Cheyney University alumni will reunite with friends from some of their most memorable college years over the week of October 13 during Cheyney University’s homecoming. The activities begin Wednesday October 16 with the coronations of Mr. and Miss Cheyney – India Marie Cross and Rashaad Washington. Mr. and Miss Blue and White -Desmond King and Courtney Clarke, and Mr. and Miss Legend - Mr. Aaron Yancey and Ms. Kristan Justice will join them on the stage at Marian Anderson Music Center at 7:30 pm. Admission is free.
A “CU Cabaret” is planned for Thursday October 17 at the Majestic Hall at 800 W. Olney Street in Philadelphia. Cabaret admission is $35 and reservations can be made via Marian Haliburton at 215 482-2152 or James McKelvey 215 327-1730.
Highlights on Friday are the invitation-only CUNAA Life members luncheon at noon, a Leadership Forum at Marcus Foster Alumni Student Center from 3 to 5 pm, the Athletic Hall of Fame Banquet at the Concordville Inn from 6 – 9 pm and a Buffet/Comedy Show and After Party at Days Inn Hotel starting at 7 pm. The general alumni meeting starts Saturday’s activities at 9 am at the Marcus Foster Alumni Student Center and ends in time for the Homecoming Parade which begins at 10:45 am.
The CU vs. Millersville University football game begins at 1 pm with halftime events including the presentation of the Homecoming Court, the 2013 Hall of Fame Inductees, and a check presentation from State Farm Insurance. General admission $20, Visiting students with ID $10, CU students with ID & accompanied children under 6 get free admission.
Other campus activities include a tour of the Aquaponics facility from 4:30 – 6 pm and CUNAA’s “After the Hill” Social at the Marcus Foster Alumni Student Center from 6:30 to 10 pm. Light refreshments will be provided. From 9 pm to 2 am, a CU Live Party with DJ, hors d’oeuvres and cash bar will be held from at Days Inn Hotel Lounge. The CU Live party costs $25.*
All alumi are invited to the President's Legacy Brunch on Sunday, October 20 at 10 am. It will be held at Ada S. Georges Dining Hall. There is no charge for admission, but reservations should be made by Oct. 11 to Alumni Relations Director Greg Benjamin at (610) 399-2419 or email@example.com
