The Lady Wolves of Cheyney picked up two more wins this past Sunday at the UMES Hawk Classic, defeating New Jersey City University in the Position Round Baker Match bracket not once, but twice. In the opening match, after losing game one, Cheyney then reeled off four straight victories to move on in the Winners' bracket. After losing to Howard University 4-1, once again Cheyney and NJCU met to determine 15th place. In a match similar to their matchup at the FDU Jamboree, this one again went down to the wire, with Cheyney prevailing this time in a 7 game match, 4-3, winning game 7 by a mere 2 pins.

This tournament featured 5 Quad Baker matches on Day 1, 5 team games on Day 2, and 3 more Position Round Baker Matches on Day 3. On Day 1, Cheyney fell in Quad Baker matches to Central Missouri University (393-800), St. Francis University (NY) (430-618), Long Island University of Brooklyn (529-771), Adelphi University (423-782) and St. Francis University (PA) (504-631).

On Saturday, Day 2, Cheyney was defeated in traditional matches by New Jersey City University (483-614), Kutztown University (624-1020), Vanderbilt University (573-1009), Sacred Heart University (610-906), and Fairleigh Dickinson University (541-918).

Sunday's Baker match success in the position round was a total team effort on the part of all 5 members; Ciera Brown, Constance Bullock, Ceyhara Shelton, Taylor Billington, and Alean Rhodes. The tournament host, the University of Maryland at Eastern Shore were the tournament Champions.

Cheyney will return to the lanes again at the Bowie State Invitational in Bowie, MD on January 17-19, 2014.
