Cheyney University students, staff and faculty exchanged expressions of love on Thursday, February 14 at the I Love Cheyney University Day in the Marcus Foster Student Center lobby.  Cookies, provided by Metz Culinary Management, and blue, heart-shaped I Love Cheyney University buttons were handed out in the mid-day celebration.

As spokespeople for Cheyney CEO (Collegiate Entrepreneurs' Organization), Vice President Shannon Burch, a junior majoring in biology, Brendon Taylor, a senior marketing major, and Julian Dunn, a senior accounting major, manned a table and promoted their organization under the leadership of Reggie Whiteside, Project Development Coordinator of CU's Entrepreneurial Leadership Center.

Much to their delight, students visiting from Washington, DC's Phelps Senior High School were showered with Cheyney love as they passed through the Student Center. On behalf of 100 Black Men, CU students Malik Williams and Thomas McRae distributed the delicious sugar cookies decorated with blue icing hearts, offering visitors a sweet snack on the run.

Down the hall, student representatives of the Cheyney University Recreation program sold valentine gifts. Passersby, looking for a last-minute gift, chose from a selection of teddy bears, boxes of chocolates, chocolate roses and  other sentimental items. Proceeds will go toward the upcoming health fair expo planned for May 3.

In addition, random acts of kindness popped up around campus as members of Omega Psi Phi delivered candygrams to unsuspecting recipients--some were signed--others were from anonymous admirers.   Colorful bundles of chocolates were also delivered throughout campus, brightening the day for many CU folks.
