The Cheyney University employee holiday party was filled with music, fun, and food on Friday afternoon.  Hosted by President Michele R. Howard-Vital, the party was an occasion for the Cheyney family to come together, reconnect and unwind a bit.

The Soulful Sounds Band entertained with holiday favorites under the direction of Professor Alan Gardner.  The musicians accompanied Professor Sebronette Barnes-Aborom who sang a rousing rendition of "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas." Professor Marques Garrett directed The University Choir but pulled a switch when he sang with the chorus on stage while student conductor Douglas Carson led the chorus through "Carol of the Bells." Other talented guests, including Abena Sala with her powerful performance of "Oh Holy Night," took to the stage.

The festivities were rounded out with a Christmas trivia quiz (everyone knew how to say Merry Christmas in Spanish - Feliz Navidad) and all verses of "The Twelve Days of Christmas" were sung with vigor as various tables competed to be the loudest.

Congratulations to the winners of raffles for poinsettias, gift baskets and gift cards.  Special thanks go to the President's office for hosting the event.  Happy holidays to all!
