CU Takes Lincoln To Five Sets

The Cheyney University Volleyball team played its closest match to date falling in five sets to Lincoln University 3-2. Cheyney jumped out and won the first two sets 25-22 and 25-20. But Lincoln rallied taking the final three by scores of 25-7, 25-13 and 15-10. It was the first time in at least 13 years that a Lady Wolves Volleyball team took a set against a Division II opponent.

Lindsay Ashby led the Lady Wolves with nine kills with seven of those being assisted by Kennetha Wallace. Wallace also led the squad with 21 digs.

Cynthia Johnson paced the Lions with 14 kills. Erica McClain was credited with 15 assists and a team high 21 digs. Cheyney is back in action on Friday night at neighboring West Chester. Game time is 7:00 pm.

The Lady Wolves return home on Saturday afternoon to face PSAC rival Kutztown at 1:00 pm in Cope Hall.
