Campus Construction Projects to Alter Homecoming Parking and Tailgating
September 1, 2011
Pardon Our Dust! Construction of the new residence hall is progressing well. However, activity on the work site will impact parking for this year's Homecoming events including tailgating.
Construction of the new 400 bed residence hall on campus is proceeding rapidly toward completion. A new science building is in design phase. Renovations are being planned for Brown and Humphreys Halls.
President Michelle Howard-Vital has alerted Cheyney University alumni, faculty, staff and students that there will be a few inconveniences during Homecoming Week (October 10 - 16). A slightly altered parking and tailgating arrangement has been planned to maximize the safety of the alumni, to work within the Townships rules, and to accommodate as many alumni on campus as possible.
"We must limit tailgating and parking to one parking space per car. However, if you must have special accommodations, please contact Chief Larry Richards and discuss your special needs with him," said President Vital.
Chief Richards, a CU alumnus and CU Director of Public Safety can be contacted at firstname.lastname@example.org.
