Cheyney Puts Up a Season High 27

Quarterback Chris Anderson tossed two touchdowns and ran for two others but it wasn’t enough as C.W. Post prevailed 42-27.
Post scored on their first possession of the afternoon but the Wolves quickly answered on their possession as quarterback Chris Anderson called his own number from five yards out. The Pioneers answered on their next possession to take a 14-7 lead at the end of the quarter. To start the quarter Anderson again called his own number from one yard out. However, the point after failed and the Wolves found themselves down 14-13. Cheyney’s Nahum Purdie forced a fumble on the ensuing kick-off but the Wolves were unable to recover. The Pioneers again answered making the score 21-13 as the teams headed to the locker room.
Post scored two touchdowns in the third quarter before the Wolves found the end zone on an Anderson 13 yard strike to Prince Stewart. C.W. Post quickly answered and but Wolves Blaze Wasserleben was on the receiving end of an Anderson 10 yard pass to cap the scoring on the day.
Cheyney’s Isaiah Fleming led all players with 11 tackles.
Cheyney will host California (PA) at 1:00 pm next week. The Wolves will recognize the 12 seniors on the squad in a pre-game ceremony.
