Cheyney Races at New York Armory

For the second time this indoor season, Cheyney University raced at the Armory in New York City.
Simone Carter won her heat in the preliminaries of the 60 m dash in 7.73, the third fastest of the night but decided to sit out the final.
On the men’s side, Kemuel Wright posted a 7.03 in the preliminaries of the 60 m and missed qualifying for the finals by .02 to finish tenth overall. Wright did place seventh in the 200 m in a time of 22.42. Justin Watkins had a strong showing in the long jump finishing sixth with a mark of 6.55 m and qualifying him for the PSAC Championships. He was the top Division II finisher. Nate McCoy jump of 13.28 was good enough to place eighth in the triple jump against a Division I field. His effort improved his previous rank and standing within the PSAC.
Jasmine Carter also qualified in the 60 m after posting a time of 8.06.
