Cheyney Runs Through WCU

For the second time this season, the Wolves traveled across town to race on the track at Farrell Stadium. A couple of Cheyney University standouts fell just short of qualifying for the PSAC Championships.

The men’s 4 x 100 relay squad of Lonnell Wilson, John Melvin, Kemuel Wright and Nate McCoy team took home the bronze medal in the 42.67. Melvin also finished fifth in the 400 m in a time of 50.72. Wright sprinted to a second place finish in the 100 meters in a blistering 11.07. He also placed second in the 200 m in 22.38. John Soussa placed second in the 800 meters in a time of 1.59.00. Jewel Jones finished fourth in the long jump and triple jumps with marks of 6.40 m and 12.40 m.

Cheyney will host Lincoln on Monday afternoon as the Battle of the First moves to the track.
