The festivities kick off with a longtime tradition on Wednesday, October 7 with the Mister and Miss Cheyney Coronation Ceremony at 7:30 pm in Marian Anderson Music Center. On October 8, 2015, The Cheyney Foundation is hosting an “All That Jazz” Paint Night Fundraiser at Pinot’s Palette in Chadds Ford, PA to raise money for Cheyney University's Fine Arts Program and its students. The Paint Night Fundraiser is open to the public. Tickets cost $45.00 which includes paint supplies and light refreshments. A portion of each ticket is tax deductible.

Cheyney University Receives TRIO Student Support Services Grant

Cheyney University of Pennsylvania has received a five-year TRIO Student Support Services grant totaling $1.1 million from the U.S. Department of Education. The grant will be used to provide programs and services that address retention, GPA and graduation rates among 140 low income first-generation students.

Cheyney University of Pennsylvania senior Lugene "Rihki" Kennebrew has just released a new song, I Can’t Breathe from the forthcoming musical short film series The Philosopher King. The Scholar, Author, & Composer is using the timely and highly relevant message of the song in his senior thesis which looks at the pervasive racial disparities and human injustices faced by many within today's culture.
