The Cheyney University Masters of Public Administration Program presents United For Change: Collaborative Solutions to Reduce Gun Violence: A Forum on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at 5:30 pm in the Caucus Room of Philadelphia City Hall. In a panel discussion the participants will discuss strategies to overcome violence. The public is invited to the free program which will be moderated by Dr. Harvey L. White, distinguished public service professional and author, President of the National Conference of Minority Public Administrators (COMPA), President of the American Society for Public Administration, National Academy of Public Administration Fellow and editor of The Journal of Public Management and Social Policy.
According to forum organizer, Gedeon M. Mudacumura, Ph.D., Associate Professor of Public Administration, Department of Social & Behavioral Sciences at Cheyney University of Pennsylvania, “Our neighborhoods, our populations and our cities are vulnerable daily to violent thoughts and behavior. Violence is not simply an issue of adequate gun laws, but a matter of culture, conflict and anger in communities. This discussion will address how private organizations, public agencies and individuals can collaborate to address violence. We invite the community to participate in this discussion and share your strategies as valued members of Philadelphia.”
