Cheyney Well Represented at All American Bowl

December 23, 2011

Several Cheyney players along with Coach Ken Lockard were selected to participate in the 2011 All American Bowl in Minneapolis. The game played in the Hubert Humphrey Metrodome home of the Minnesota Vikings.

Cheyney was well represented by Tim Hume (7), Cardoza Jacks (34), Darnell Burton (12), Carl Meeks (23) and Erick Smith (9). Hume, Jacks, Meeks, Burton and Coach Lockard drove the 1100 miles to Minnesota.

This year the players continued the tradition from a year ago when six Cheyney players participated in the All-Star contest.

“All the players played extremely well in the game. They played with the Cheyney Pride that has been instilled in them since being a part of our program, “commented Lockard who served as Defensive Coordinator in the game. “The young men were very respectful everywhere we visited and handled themselves professionally on and off the field. As always I am extremely proud of these guys for their constant hard work. Everyone in the Cheyney family should be proud of this group of fine young men that represented our university extremely well in all aspects.”
