Coach Adams to Participate in A Step Up

Cheyney University assistant women’s basketball coach Kyle Adams has been selected to participate in 2012 A STEP UP, a symposium for the professional development of assistant coaches presented by Felicia Hall Allen & Associates set to take place April 27th -April 29th at the Sheraton Dallas Hotel in Dallas, Texas. Coach Adams received an Uplift Registration Scholarship to attend the symposium.

Adams recently completed his first season as lead Assistant Coach for the Lady Wolves.

Felicia Hall Allen & Associates is a motivational speaking, training, Consulting and sports management organization. CEO and President, Felicia Hall Allen firmly believes that the “greatest good you can do for another is not just to share your riches, but to reveal to him his own.”

The mission of A Step Up is to help assistant coaches gain knowledge, discover coaching insights, develop strategies and techniques to help them reach their full coaching potential in a professional learning environment.

The symposium will cover 10 topics including “Recruiting”, "Elevating Your Coaching Profile" and “Rebuilding A Program". Several coaches from the Division I & II levels will be on hand.

The very competitive Uplift Registration Scholarship has been made possible by a generous commitment from The NCAA's Committee on Women's Athletics and The Minorities Opportunities and Interest Committee, Felecia Hall Allen and Associates to support the advancement and professional development of ethnic minority coaches. The scholarship will cover the cost of registration and handbook. Ten Scholarships have been awarded to ethnic minority coaches who are chosen from a pool of candidates that meet the eligibility.
