Curtis Joins 1,000 Point Club in Season Finale

Deshawn Curtis needed 24 points to join the 1,000 point club and finished his final collegiate contest with 32. He was also credited with 11 rebounds to earn his tenth double double of the season. He finishes his three years at Cheyney with 1,008 points. Calvin Brown added 13 points and Jerrod Johnson tallied 10 points and 10 rebounds.
With the game tied at 19 midway through the first half, the Eagles went on a 10-0 run and never looked back. The Wolves were able to cut the lead to four, 31-27, when Curtis threw down a dunk at the 3:42. However the Eagles were able to bring the lead back up to ten at the half. The Eagles stretched the advantage to 18, before the Wolves mounted a comeback. Cheyney cut the lead to eight on a Curtis jumper at the 2:54 mark but would not get any closer. Just a week earlier, the Augusta, GA native, one of the top scoreres in the Conference, was named PSAC EAST Co-Player of the Week because of his high-scoring efforts.
Wali Hepburn and Kasheef Festus paced Lock Haven with 18 points apiece. Festus also added a game high 12 rebounds.
Cheyney (3-23:3-13) concluded the season with a 79-70 loss at Lock Haven (17-9:10-6).
