Early Drought Hinders Wolves
January 25, 2012
Jason Sabb registered 19 points and Brandon Baylor 14 but Cheyney fell to their cross town rival West Chester 79-49 before a sold out Cope Hall crowd.
After both teams traded baskets on their first possession, the Golden Rams ran off 16 straight points and never looked back en route to victory. Cheyney battled back to cut the deficit to five with seven minutes to play in the half but a 10-2 run by the Golden Rams quickly pushed the lead back up. In the second half the Wolves shooting woes continued as they only connected on a 32% of their attempts.
Cheyney will look to get on track on Saturday at Shippensburg. Tip-off is slated for 3:00 pm.
