About the event: In celebration of the 175th anniversary of Cheyney University Department of Library Services is pleased to present “A Tribute to Bayard Rustin.”  This program will examine the legacy of the “invisible man” of the civil rights movement.  Rustin was a master strategist and tactician, a key organizer of the historic 1963 MLK march on Washington, and it was Rustin who introduced Gandhi’s principals of nonviolent political action to the movement.
