Garcia Set New Mark

Javier Garcia set a new school record in the javelin while finishing second and qualifying for the season ending PSAC Championships with a mark of 56.68 m at the Gwynedd-Mercy Mid-Week Invitational. Garcia also placed fifth in the shot put.
The Wolves had several strong showings at the mid-week event. Nate McCoy won the triple jump with a mark of 13.01 m. He also anchored the 4 X 100 winning relay and placed third in the 100 m qualifying g for the PSAC Championships. McCoy was a work horse all afternoon placing sixth in the 200 m and third in the long jump. Daniel Shalom took sixth in the javelin and moved into third place all time in the CU record book. Justin Watkins and Donte McCorey took home a fourth and fifth place finish in the 400 m. They were also part of the winning 4 X 100 and second place 4 x 400 relay squads. Jon Soussa ran third in the 800 and capped the 4 X 400 relay. John Melvin placed sixth in the 400 m and also anchored the 4 X 400 relay. Kemuel Wright placed second in the 100 meters and provided a lead in the 4 X 100 relay that the Wolves would not surrender.
Cheyney is back in action this weekend at West Chester before hosting Lincoln on Monday afternoon.
