Garcia Sets New School Record in Javelin....Crawford Wins 100 Hurdles

Khabira Crawford led Cheyney at the Millersville Metrics by winning the 100 meter hurdles in 15.10.

Other top 10 finishes included a tenth place in the 100 meter by Jasmine Carter.  Carter posted a 12.98 competing in her first event of the season.  In the long jump Bahiyra Shaw and Shanavia Thomas finished third and fourth respectively with marks of 5.46 and 5.32 m.  Shaw's mark was a personal best.

In the men's competition, Javier Garcia threw the javelin 58.55 m to set a new school record.  His mark placed him fifth and etched his name once again in the Cheyney record book.  Tariq Lovelace placed sixth in the 100 m with a time of 11.14. Justin Watkins finished ninth in the400 m in a time of 51.73.  Ernest Polite placed ninth in the high jump with a mark of 1.80 m.  Adam Dolphin's effort in the long jump was a personal best and was good enough for him to place fourth with a mark of 6.65 m.  Evander Wilson placed seventh in the shot put with a mark of 14.31 m representing Cheyney for the first time.

"I thought we competed very well today," commented Head Coach James Williams.  "We continue to improve each week."

In the team standings, the Lady Wolves placed 15th out of 24 squads while the men finished 21st out of 29 teams.
