Hume Named PSAC East Defensive Player of the Week

September 4, 2011

The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) named senior defensive end Tim Hume as the PSAC East Defensive Player of the Week.

Hume played a key role in helping Cheyney defeat Lincoln (Pa.), 21-19, marking the Wolves’ first win over Lions in the “Battle of the Firsts.” Hume made just five tackles (four solo), including four for loss, but forced a fumble in the final seconds of the game to halt a potential game-winning drive by Lincoln. Hume’s four tackles for loss resulted in a combined loss of 18 yards. With just :14 left in the game, and with Lincoln having driven to midfield after having started its drive on its own 1-yard line and needing just a field goal to win, Hume sacked QB Douglas Cook and forced a fumble, which teammate Joe Winn fell on to seal the Cheyney win.
