Tim Hume was named PSAC East Defensive Player of the Year by the conference coaches. Hume led the conference in tackles for loss with 21.5 and led the Wolves with 6.5 sacks. The senior defensive end was also credited with 62 tackles. A captain of the 2011 Wolves, Hume ranks sixth in the country in tackles for loss at 1.95 per game. This marks the third time in his four years that Hume was named All-PSAC.

“I was in shock when I found out. This is a great honor. It proves what hard work can do,” commented the Harrisburg native. “Ray (Wagner, the quarterback at East Stroudsburg) told me first and I didn’t believe him. We played High School ball together at Susquehanna. I was happy for him that he made second team as well as my team mates Marcus Jones and Stan Banks.”

Hume is the first player from Cheyney to garner a major postseason award since Dominique Curry was named the East Rookie of the Year in 2005. He is the first member of the Wolves to be named a Player of the Year since Keith Higdon was named the Athlete of the Year in 1993, which was prior to there being separate Player of the Year awards for offense and defense.

Marcus Jones and Stan Banks were named to the 2nd team. Jones, the Wolves leading rusher compiled 605 yards on 112 carries, an average of 5.4 per carry and 55 yards per game. He was also credited with three touchdowns. This is the second year that Jones has been recognized by the conference coaches. Last season as a freshman, Jones was a 1st team All-PSAC selection. Banks is making his first appearance on the all conference squad. The senior defensive back led Cheyney with three interceptions. He was also credited with four pass break-ups and seven passes defended. He recorded 34 tackles in 11 games.
