Janelle Destiny McKelvey Competes in the National Black College Alumni Hall of Fame Competition of Black College Queens

Miss Cheyney, senior Janelle Destiny McKelvey, participated in the National Black College Alumni Hall of Fame Competition of Black College Queens in Atlanta, Georgia on Saturday, September 29th, 2012.
The Hall of Fame is an established weekend conference which recognizes and celebrates the accomplishments of students and graduates of the world’s Historically Black Colleges and Universities. The weekend included the Hall of Famers Awards Luncheon and the Hall of Fame Induction Reception and Ceremony which recognizes well-known HBCU graduates.
The First Mr. Cheyney University, William T. Walker, Jr., accompanied Miss McKelvey to the event. Janelle is a general science student and Keystone Honors Academy scholar, and has an extensive Cheyney University heritage. Her parents, James and Rochelle McKelvey, are both Cheyney alumni. Mr. Walker, a Sophomore, is a Communications major planning a career in radio and TV broadcasting.
