Lady Wolves Fall to Shippensburg

Aerie DeJesus paced Cheyney with 17 points and Linda Henderson added 12 points but it wasn’t enough as the Lady Wolves fell 71-53 to Shippensburg. Alexis Peterson led all players in rebounding with a career high 12.

The Lady Wolves jumped out to an 8-0 start thanks in part to back to back three pointers DeJesus and a lay-up by Henderson. The Red Radiers quickly went on a 7-0 run to get back into the contest. The First half featured a see-saw twenty minutes with both teams owning the lead. The Red Raiders took a three point lead into the locker room at half-time.

After the teams traded three pointers to start the second half, Shippensburg went on a 12-0 to take a strangle hold on the game from which the Lady Wolves were not able to overcome.

Cheyney returns to action on Wednesday night. The Lady Wolves will host East Stroudsburg at 6:00 pm in Cope Hall.
