New Science Center Construction Progresses
September 4, 2013
Architect Tim Kearney updates President Howard-Vital on a recent site inspection at the new Science Center.
Since the May 3, 2011 groundbreaking, great progress has been made on the 40,000 square-foot new Science Center. Sustainability features include day lighting, a demonstration green roof, rain water/gray water recycling, a bio-retention pond, a rain garden, highly efficient mechanical systems, and use of recycled and local materials. The Center will house chemistry, biology and physics labs, general lecture, seminar, computer science and faculty spaces. Adding an interesting dimension to the site is a new planetarium.
