The Pre-service Academic Performance Assessment (PAPA) was rolled out for Pennsylvania certification candidates on April 2, 2012. The series of three (3) tests in Reading, Math, and Writing replaces the PPST or PRAXIS I series. It is important to note that PDE requires the PAPA series for ALL undergraduate certification program candidates as the designated assessment of basic skills required by Chapter 354.31 as part of the admission to formal candidacy.
