Sixty-Six Student Athletes Named to Athletic Director's Honor Roll

Sixty-six Cheyney University student-athletes were named to the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll for the 2012 Fall Semester. Those honored all received a 3.0 grade point average or better last semester.
Highlighting the list were seven student-athletes that scored perfect 4.0's. They include, Blaze Wasserleben (football), Cristina Jordan (basketball), Destiny McFarlane (basketball), Faye Dunston (basketball), Alexis Peterson (basketball), Dara Reeves (basketball) and Nichel Bryant (volleyball).
“We talk about the importance of grades with the student-athletes every time we meet,” commented Athletic Director Ruffin Bell. “I’m proud of our students and coaches for getting the message and taking it to heart.”
According to Bell,"our student athletes are the pride of Cheyney University. I am very proud of (their) accomplishments both on and off the field. They are great ambassadors of not only the athletic department, but the university as well." 

The 66 student-athletes named to the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll include cheerleaders Courtney Clark, Richona McKnight, Tara Redic, and Mika Stuart.

Men's basketball players on the list are Mike Drinks, Mecheal Greene, Eugene Lett, Keith Mobley, Brandon Norfleet, and Michael Peays.

Christian Beard, Ed Droughn, and Thomas Kendell represent the Cross Country team on the list.

The Football team had the most players on the list: Thony Adler, Eric Barrow, Shannon Burch, Brandon Collins, Cory Conway, Khalif Dandy, Tristan Dillon-McCallum, Devon Dredden,Mychal Evans, Dominic Gould, Adrese Hicks,Justin Johnson, Marcus Jones, Maurice Jones, Jordan Morris, Eugene Moten, Nafis Muhammed, Nahum Purdie, Gustavo Ramirez, Christain Sanchez, Joshua Simmons, Leroy Stanford, Robert Tolbert, Darius Warren, Ernest Washington, Blaze Wasserleben, Mackenzie Weathington, and Tyler Wilkinson.

Track members Darius Reeves, Kemeul Wright, Jasmine Carter, Kevia DeLorme, Natasha Lyburn, Veronica Sweet, Shanavia Thomas, Alexa Kirksey, Taniqua Purdie are on the list, as are Women's Basketball players Lindsay Ashby, Faye Dunston, Kyra Hines-Allen, Cristina Jordan, Destiny McFarlane, Shayna Miller, Alexis Peterson, and Dara Reeves.

Representing the Bowling team on the list are Taylor Billington and Danielle Mines.  Volleyball players Nichel Bryant, Sierra Katherine Brooks, Virshae Campbell, Linda Henderson, Denise Hill, Crystal Mann, and Kennetha Wallace also made the grades to round out the list.
