Cheyney University's 2014 Spring Entrepreneurial Leadership Center (ELC) Lecture Series has two more outstanding opportunities for students to learn valuable information from entrepreneurial experts. Today, Wednesday April 2, Dr. Harold Russell, veterinarian, epidemiologist and owner of Glencroft Veterinary Hospital, in Glencroft, PA, will share how to start your own Veterinary Hospital, in addition to other entrepreneurial opportunities in the medical industry.

Dr. Russell has consulted in public health as an epidemiologist for more than 30 years, and has served as health officer for local government and as a consultant for local, county, and state health departments. Dr. Russell has collaborated on projects with several government and private agencies including the Centers for Disease Control, the U.S. Department of Agriculture and The Army Corps of Engineers. Dr. Russell serves on the faculty of St. George's University School of Medicine in Grenada. He also practices medicine and surgery at his Pennsylvania veterinary hospital.

The ELC lectures provide scholars with knowledge in different areas of business ownership so that they can pursue an alternative to traditional employment upon graduation. The ultimate goal of the ELC is to inform, inspire, and motivate Cheyney students to pursue business ownership for themselves.

All lectures are held in the New Residence Hall on the 1st floor inside the UPS Conference Room from 6 pm until 8 pm. All lectures are open to the general public and are free of charge.

The Spring series wraps up on Wednesday April 9 with Cheyney University Alumni who will share their journey from Cheyney to entrepreneurship.  . Guest speakers include Christina Clark (’97), owner of Clark Entertainment and Sports, Marissa Gadsden (’01), Owner of Eden’s Touch Bread Company ad Vonda McPherson (’87), owner of Vonda K’s Catering and Events.
