James Vallery, one of Cheyney University's top 400m runners in school history joins the men’s & women’s track & field coaching staff. Vallery, a recent CU graduate, will primarily working with the long sprinters. While a student athlete at Cheyney, Vallery put together an impressive career. On multiple occasions Vallery has earned All-PSAC honors and currently ranks: 4th All-Time 200m Indoor, 3rd All-Time Outdoor 200m, and 2nd All-Time Outdoor at 400m. He is the current 400M Indoor school record holder, and a member of both the indoor & outdoor 4x400m record holding team.
“I was very impressed with Val when I got to Cheyney he was a member of the football team, Resident Assistant, and active in fraternal life. He was able to manage all of this along with being a successful student-athlete, mentor to the younger runners, while working a full time job during his senior year. I took these qualities into consideration along with his understanding of the training system and considered Val the best candidate for what the program needed,” commented Coach Williams.
The Wolves begin the indoor season on December 3 at the Ursinus College Invitational.
