Weeden Named Equipment Manager

Roland Weeden has been named Equipment Manager at Cheyney University.


This is Weeden’s second experience with Wolves athletic department. During the 2007 and 2008 football seasons, Weeden was a member of the Wolves coaching staff. He served as the Defensive Line Coach for former Cheyney head coach Jeff Braxton.


Prior to his return to Cheyney, Weeden was a member of the football staff at Millersville for the past three years. In 2009 and 2010 he mentored the running back. In 2011 he moved to the other side of the ball coaching the defensive line.


Weeden has also had a pair of three year stints at Fairleigh Dickinson and Williamson Trade School.

Weeden began his coaching career at North East High School in North East, Md., where he coached from 1996-97. From 1998-2000, he coached at Elkton High School.

He was also a collegiate athlete, playing football at both Ferrum College and Mansfield University.

Weeden graduated from Wilmington College in 1982 with a bachelor’s degree in behavioral science. Weeden currently resides in Elkton, Md., with his wife Cassandra. The couple has two sons, Jared and Brian.
