1st Annual Social Entrepreneur Business Plan Competition Registration Opens

The Entrepreneurial Leadership Center (ELC) of Cheyney University is seeking current students to participate in its 1st Annual Social Entrepreneur Business Plan Competition. Applicants who are interested in starting a new business or growing an existing business are encouraged to participate. Students may work as one-person or in multiple-person teams.
The theme for this year’s competition is Social Entrepreneurship. The 2012 grand prize is an iPAD2. .
What is Social Entrepreneurship? A social entrepreneur is any individual who utilizes the concepts of business entrepreneurship to solve society’s challenges. When a business is established solely to aid in solving society’s problems, this is Social Entrepreneurship. What generally sets social entrepreneurs apart from other types business owners is an ability and willingness to take risks and solve problems for the purpose of addressing social problems.
All students that are full or part-time, undergraduate or graduate, currently enrolled at Cheyney University during the Spring Semester 2012 are eligible to participate.
